When you create an account, we collect your email address and username. When you use Cyber Bag, we may also collect:

• Content you create: recipes, reviews, price submissions, photos, comments, and posts
• Location data: approximate city-level location via IP address for showing nearby store prices. We do not track precise GPS location without your permission.
• Device information: device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interactions to improve the service

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Cyber Bag service
• To show you relevant grocery prices in your area
• To send notifications about activity on your posts, recipes, and teams
• To enable social features like teams, collections, and recipe sharing
• To prevent abuse and maintain security

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in these cases:

• Public content: recipes, reviews, and posts you publish are visible to other users
• Price data: price submissions are shared with the community to help others compare prices
• Service providers: we use Supabase for data storage, Vercel for hosting, and Expo for push notifications
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL with row-level security). Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

5. Your Rights

• Access: you can view all your data through your profile
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings
• Export: contact us to request a copy of your data
• Correction: you can edit your profile, recipes, and submissions at any time

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage and secure device storage to maintain your session and preferences (like dark mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

7. Tracking and Advertising

Cyber Bag does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA) or participate in ad networks. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data (profile, recipes, reviews, price submissions, pantry, shopping lists, and notifications) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate data (price averages, ingredient statistics) may be retained.

9. International Users

Cyber Bag is operated from Canada. If you are accessing the service from outside Canada, your data may be transferred to and processed in Canada. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Children

Cyber Bag is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email.
